Julia is known and recognized as a business and accounting professional with more than 20 years of experience as an accountant, business consultant, tax preparer, and expert in managing and advising non-profit organizations and commercial businesses. She is a Senior Manager in the Tax and Business Service Department at Wegner CPAs. She has served as an Alderwoman for the City of Fitchburg Common Council since 2015.
She holds a degree in Business and Accounting from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, in Argentina and a Master in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University in Georgia, US. Her family moved to Fitchburg 18 years ago, she calls Fitchburg HOME. She and her husband raised two sons in this city and they attended the Madison Schools. She also has served and serves in numerous non profits organizations as board member.
Julia is originally from Argentina and has been a Fitchburg resident since 2004. She enjoys gardening and snowshoeing in her free time and she is an avid soccer (futbol) fan
Julia’s tenure at the City of Fitchburg
She has served an Alderwoman for the City of Fitchburg Common Council since 2015. During her tenure, she has served in several commissions and committees in different leadership roles and acted as President of the Council in 2020. Currently she serves in the Personnel Committee, Parks commission and Tree Advisory Committee.
During my tenure in the City, she has served as:
Chair of Finance Committee for four years and member for six years.
Chair of Community Economic Development Authority (CEDA) for three terms and member for nine years. I also was the co-chair of Forward Fitchburg strategic vision for the city.
Member of Plan commission and Bike committee for one term.

Blackhawk Church Fitchburg Groundbreaking
Aston Drive located in the new North Stoner Prairie neighborhood.
Taping the Spanish TV Show
Monthly TV show in Spanish in collaboration with Lupita Montoto from La Movida radio station to provide City news to the Latino community in their language.
Name of the program: Descubriendo Contigo Noticias y Recursos en Español (Discovery with your news and resources in Spanish).
Groundbreaking day for the Limerick Properties
Located in 5128 LacyRoad, this is a senior and workforce housing project with 27 families’ townhomes and 100 units developed by Sean O’Brien.
Playground for All located at McKee Farms Park
McKee Farms Park now features a playground that is inclusive for all users, including children with disabilities. This playground allows those with physical or sight limitations to play and interact together with other kids and families in a safe and secure space.
HUB Phase I: Park on the North of Traceway Drive
The Hub is envisioned as a neighborhood and regional gathering place, consisting of indoor and outdoor space providing sociable, recreational, cultural, learning, and resource opportunities.
This new park will be ready in the Spring of 2024. Construction will start in the Spring of 2023. It will be located North of Traceway Road.

In 2012, Brava Magazine recognized Julia as one of "23 Women to Watch" for her role in the Latino Chamber of Commerce and her entrepreneurship initiatives.
Women of Achievement Award
In 2013, Julia was recognized with the "Women of Achievement Award" by the Wisconsin Women of Color Network for her commitment to enriching the lives of women of color.
Community Leader Award
In 2014, she was awarded the Community Leader Award for her work with the Latino Business community in Dane County.
Madison's Most Influential People
In July of 2015, she was recognized by the INBusiness Magazine as one of Madison's "Most Influential" people for her contributions to the business community.
Latino Chamber of Commerce and Latino Professional Association
Julia was the former President of the board of directors of the Latino Chamber of Commerce of Dane County. She devoted more than eight years to build up the organization as a volunteer. Additionally, Julia was one of the co-founder members of the Latino Professional Association of Greater Madison.
Other Involvements
Julia has also served in the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce board of directors, a South-Central Advisor Team for Wisconsin Women Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC), Agrace Hospice, and United Way of Dane County
MadRep Executive Board and Overture Foundation
Currently, she serves in the Madison Region Economic Partnership (MadRep) in the Executive Board as Treasurer, the Latino Consortium for Action, and the Overture Center Foundation as past treasurer and current board member.
